SAT tutoring and ACT tutoring must include more than simply providing test-taking strategies. Although these are important, there are certain terms, concepts, and grammar lessons a student should review with an English tutor. The SAT Writing section and the ACT English section both test knowledge of certain grammar lessons as well as usage rules, idiomatic expressions and word choice that a student should remember. Such grammar lessons include understanding subject-verb agreement, participles, parallelism, and verb tenses.
